| The new 2011 Audi A8 is here to dethrone the current German-engineering kings. Still bearing its resemblance to its A8 predecessors, the 2011 model has all of the technical upgrades and gadgets of a luxury sports sedan worthy of the Audi name. Sturdier and lighter than ever, thanks to its aluminum space frame, the 2011 Audi A8 is one of the lightest in its class. Equipped with a 4.2-liter V8 engine that is paired an all-new eight-speed transmission, the A8 has 372 horsepower to propel it forward from zero to sixty in 5.7 seconds. 60 percent of that horsepower is shifted to the rear wheels, courtesy of the altered Quattro all-wheel drive system, to provide the driver with a more conventional sports sedan feel. A slimmed-down beltline and gearbox has increased the fuel economy by up to fifteen percent. The sumptuous interior is tastefully accented with LED interior lighting, which can be changed to various hues to fit your mood. Passengers traveling in the back can take advantage of the fully adjustable rear seats, which even include a memory function. You may chose to add the heating or the massage options, and for entertainment there are packages with LCD monitors and a Bang & Olufson sound system. Among other little details are separate climate zones and electric window shades. But by far the most innovative device in the 2011 A8 is the touch-based interface that you use simply by spelling out your queries with your finger. No need to look at a screen to select letters one by one- the A8 does it all for you. The Google-linked navigation recognizes where you want to go and the Audi A8 takes you there in style. | |
